Lamar CISD is proud to be among the fastest-growing districts in Texas. In fact, demographers project that our community will add more than 48,000 new single-family homes within the next decade.

To keep up with our growth, we are frequently building and opening new schools—while regularly reviewing and monitoring enrollment.

Due to the growing student population that has resulted from new growth and development in the area, the district has enacted a cap on enrollment for students in Pre-K - 5th grades for Becerra, Haygood and Melton Elementary. This decision allows class sizes to remain at acceptable levels while not overloading instructional programs at the campus.

Families with students moving into Becerra Elementary zone will be rezoned to Culver Elementary located at 3131 Learning Tree Ln., Rosenberg, TX 77471. Families with students moving into Haygood and Melton Elementary zones will be rezoned to Tamarron Elementary located at 29616 Rileys Ridge, Katy, TX 77494.

Transportation will be available to these families.
